The Young Entrepreneur Showcase was held on Saturday 24 November 2018. Wow! What an absolutely amazing day for the children of the Redlands.

This was the first event in the Young Entrepreneur Showcase series and what a great turnout we had. There were over 40 Young Entrepreneurs who ran stalls packed full of their handmade crafts, body products, gifts, jewellery and snacks. Not to mention SLIME!

We were delighted to have talented artist Arabella perform some entertainment, singing and playing her Ukelele.

Santa K paid a visit and handed out free gifts to all the children.

There were pony rides, a jumping castle and Fairy Raine from Fairy Lane was there to give free hugs and fairy wishes.

One of the highlights of the day was when the Mayor stopped by to meet and support the children on their big day,  and she was so impressed by all of the stalls she decided to do some of her Christmas shopping.

Stall holders, Sienna Eager had a gratitude tree set up next to her stall.  The idea behind it is to write down what you are grateful for and pop it on the tree, to remind yourself of all the good things in your life.  This was a great idea and a humbling experience for all that got involved.

Sienna will be donating part of her money towards Night Ninja’s homeless charity in the Redlands as she is very passionate about helping the homeless.

Garry from Bendigo Bank was one of the sponsors of the event. He was hands-on during the day, interacting and providing encouragement for the children. Garry handed out certificates of participation to all the children who attended, as well as a little thank you gift – an Entrepreneur Survival Kit.

It was fantastic to see the children so passionate about their businesses and engaging not only with their customers but also with each other. Their confidence and aspiration grew as the day went on, as did their smiles.
